Omega Speedmaster Alaska Project Ltd edition of 1970 pieces. 311.32.42.30.04.001. AKA “Angry Hitler”. Based on the first prototype in 1969 “The Alaska II”, It features a mechanical hound-wound 1861 calibre movement with 48 power reserve. A modified white dial which better reflects the heat of sun with white rocket sub-dials and modified hands, 40mm steel case with back tachymeter bezel. Hesalite crystal glass. An additional aluminium ‘Thermal shield’ enables the watch to withstand temperatures ranging from – 148 to +260. It is the only timepiece to pass NASA’s rigorous certification tests. Steel bracelet with deployment clasp. Supplied with two white “Alaska Project” fabric straps with Velcro fastening. Box and paper dated March 2010.
