The term “L’Egiziano” translates to “The Egyptian” in English. The watch is named after the historic connection between Panerai and the Egyptian Navy.
The Panerai L’Egiziano was originally created in the 1950s for the Egyptian Navy, which had specific requirements for a large, robust, and highly legible diving watch. The watch featured a distinctive cushion-shaped case design and a crown-protecting bridge to ensure water resistance.
