Philippe Annual Calendar 5035G-039. 18ct White Gold case, diameter 37mm. Water-resistant to 30 meters. Automatic caliber 315 SQA24H movement signed with the Geneva Seal; 33 jewels, micro-rotor in 21ct gold, 48-hour power reserve, 316 parts. It has a lovely silver dial with white gold applied Roman-numeral hour markers with luminescent inlay; ‘feuille’ hands with luminescent coating. Functions: hours, minutes, seconds with centre-second sweep, day of week between 9 and 11 o’clock and month between 1 and 3 o’clock; 24-hour indicator at 6 o’clock. Sapphire crystal case-back. Black alligator strap with iconic white gold deployant clasp with signature Calatrava Cross fastening.

This lovely wrist-watch comes complete with its Outer Box, Inner Wooden presentation box and Patek Philippe white gold setting-stylus. Its Certificate of Origin is dated May 2004, and together with full documentation including Patek Philippe service papers from 2005 is contained in a leather wallet.

In 1996 Patek Philippe were the first manufacture ever to produce an Annual Calendar time-piece. Requiring only a single date adjustment at the end of February, the displayed date is always correct throughout the year, irrespective of whether the month contains 30 or 31 days. For this patented and innovative breakthrough in watch-making, Patek Philippe won Swiss Watchmaker of the Year for 1996 and, with variations, its Annual Calendar has remained in production ever since.
