Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner Date 50th Anniversary 16610LV “Flat 4” with big O.  Stainless steel 40mm diameter case with screw-down crown, water resistant up to 300 metres. Self-winding superlative chronometer 3135 calibre movement, with a 48 hour power reserve. Uni-directional bezel with green anodised aluminium insert. Silver Arabic numerals for the 60 minute graduation on the bezel. Black dial, luminescent hour markers and hands. Central hours, minutes and seconds hands. Sapphire crystal glass. Date window located at the 3 o’clock position with readability enhanced by the cyclops lens. Stainless steel Oyster bracelet with folding clasp. Box and papers dated February 2004. Service papers dated September 2018.

The Rolex Submariner 16610LV, launched in 2003 to celebrate the Submariner’s 50th anniversary, marked a bold shift with its distinctive green bezel and Maxi dial. Nicknamed the “Kermit,” it retained the classic stainless steel case and reliable caliber 3135 movement. The 16610LV was the first Submariner to feature the larger Super-LumiNova hour markers and hands, offering enhanced legibility. Its “Flat 4” bezel variant—where the 4 in “40” has a flat top—is especially sought after by collectors. Discontinued in 2010 and succeeded by the ceramic 116610LV “Hulk,” the Kermit remains a highly desirable and historically significant Rolex model.
